This is some furniture that we did not do that I came across this week. It was refinished within the last 2 years by another company and the finish is already beginning to peel off. We could clearly see that the other company did not sandblast the old finish off before they powder coated.
This is why we always take the time to do the job right and completely sandblast the old finish off before prepping and applying a new finish. Your new finish is only as good as the prep work that is done underneath it. We have seen a lot of work from other companies where they have either did not sandblasted at all, or have “fast blasted” the old finish. This means they sand blasted the old finish just enough to rough it up, but not remove it. This will often result in a finish that looks good on delivery, but will always have adhesion issues in the very near future. This is why we are able to warranty all of our finishes that we do. Make sure if you are going to spend the money that you choose a company that will do the work right! https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ Here is a very nice set of cast aluminum patio furniture that we powder coated for a customer in a high end RV resort here in Naples. The flakey old finish was sandblasted off, a brand new powder coat finish was applied, then all of the feet of the furniture were replaced with new nylon glides. A properly applied finish like this one will last for many more years even here in the Florida elements.
Frame: Bronze Age III https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ His is another designer set of Brown Jordan cast aluminum patio furniture that we restored for a customer in Bonita Springs. Heavy cast aluminum frames like this will last a lifetime and are well worth restoring over replacing. We sandblast the old finish entirely off in order to ensure perfect adhesion of the new powder coat finish, before replacing all of the glides and delivering the furniture back to the customer.
Frame: Sandstone https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio This was a very nice set of cast aluminum / sling outdoor furniture that we sandblasted, powder coated, and made new slings for in Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs. Heavy cast aluminum like this will last multiple lifetimes, and is well worth restoring vs. the cost of buying new.
Frame: Java II Sling: FP-002 Amber https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ This is a set we did recently for a customer in Ft. Myers, FL. The old finish on the furniture was ready for restoration, but the slings were still in good shape. The customer really liked here existing slings and wanted to save them, so we were able to remove them intact, restore the frames, and reinstall the original slings to save the customer a little money.
Frame: Bronze Age III https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ This is another set of sling furniture that we powder coated and made new slings for here in Naples, FL. The old paint was sandblasted off, a brand new finish was powder coated on the aluminum frames, new fabric was cut and sewn into new slings, and the final product was delivered right back to the customer. A great update to their patio for not a lot of money compared to replacing with new.
Frame: Tex. Black https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ An old customer recently called us back to powder coat some more furniture in her condo on the beach in Naples. She showed us the other set of furniture that we powder coated for her 15 years ago. The photos below are pieces of furniture that we powder coated way back then. The finish still looks like it just came out of our oven. This is a great example of the extra work we put into our surface preparation, and the high quality materials we use paying off big time for our customer.
Frame Color: LC Bronze Here is a set of furniture that we powder coated and made new slings for in Colliers Reserve here in Naples. This was a very high quantity set of furniture that will last for many year to come.
Frame: Antique Sunrise Sling: Natura Natural https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ Here is a set of iron furniture that we powder coated for customer here in Naples. We don't see nearly as much iron furniture here in Southwest Florida as we do aluminum because of how susceptible to rust iron is in our extremely humid and rainy environment we have here. Never the less, if this furniture is kept out of the rain it should hold up great.
Frame: Sliverado II www.facebook.com/naplespatio This is a really high end set of Pompeii pool furniture that we refinished for a condominium in Bay Colony here in Naples. Below you can see the before and after photos of the chairs and lounges. Everything was completely disassembled, the aluminum frames were sandblasted, powder coated, new straps were applied and the plastic feet were replaced with brand new nylon glides. This set is ready to last another 15+ years. Frame: Luna Strap: 2" 224 Off White https://www.facebook.com/naplespatio/ BEFORE: AFTER: |
